Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ramzi Yusoff

Dr. Ahmad Ramzi Yusoff is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and a General and Hepatobiliary Surgeon. He completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Malaya and was conferred Master of Surgery and Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. Later, he attended the National University Hospital, Singapore for advanced laparoscopic training, followed by HPB training with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. Subsequently, he had a stint in the Institute of Liver Studies at King's College Hospital, London as an honorary fellow in Liver Transplantation. He currently holds the position of Head of the Department of Surgery and is in charge of undergraduate and postgraduate surgical education. He is passionate about all aspects of the benign and malignant pancreas, biliary, and liver diseases, as well as a particular interest in ERCP and laparoscopic hernia repair. His research focuses on hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, and biliary diseases. He has several national and international publications with more than 200 citations and h-index of 8 (Google Scholar). He is currently working on the impact of dioxins on gene and protein expressions in adipocyte cell lines of fatty liver disease and the treatment of unresectable locoregional HCC.
