Mr. Philip Gisan Hospital Queen Elizabeth Kota Kinabalu

Mr. Philip Gisan is a retired Senior Assistant Medical Officer with 40 years of experience working in Ministry of Health Malaysia. He had vast experience in Emergency care, Anaesthesia , Psychiatry , Primary Health care and Endoscopy. He was the Head of Endoscopy Unit, Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu for 18 years. In his time he was instrumental in setting up Specialisation Post Basic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Nursing programme which had produced many nurses and Assistant Medical Officers (GIAs) in endoscopy throughout Malaysia. He was the Chief Trainer, Head Endoscopy Local Perceptor, and was an invited lecturer for the Post Basic Endoscopy students in the Institute of Allied Health Science Kota Kinabalu. He had organized and presented talks at numerous national and international Endoscopy workshop for Endoscopy GIAs. He graduated from Charles Stuart University Australia with a Bachelor Degree (Hons) in Health Science. He was awarded a study grant to undergo further training in endoscopy in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney in 2009 and Sir Charles Gardner Hospital Perth Australia in Advance management in Endoscopy Nursing 2013.Mr. Philip Gisan is also very active in sport. Currently he is a Senior National Member of the Malaysian Weightlifting Federation, President of the Sabah State Weightlifting Association and holding International Weightlifting Referee Licence (IWF Class 1), weightlifting coach, team manager for state and national team at National and International Level. At International level he participated as a Technical officer at the Commonwealth Games Kuala Lumpur 1998, Glasgow 2014, coach cum manager at Asian Games DOHA 2006 , South East Asia Games, World Wtlifting Championship 2019 (China), (SEA Games 2001, 2017(Malaysia), Vietnam 2022),
